Somatic Experiential Group
Experience the Calm

This group is ideal for those struggling with Trauma, Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Social Anxiety, and other situational disorders. We meet in a small group of no more than 5 and go through a variety of mental and physical exercises that speak directly to the areas of the nervous system to promote a sense of relaxation. The goal is to learn a "calm reflex" you can access at anytime. You will experience the state of relaxation in this 1 hour group.
We discuss neuro-anatomy, psychoeducation, mediation and prayer, guided imagery using our imaginations, and Trauma informed stretches and postures.
I created this group to incorporate the proven coping techniques I teach in individual therapy. The social interaction and physical movement increase feel good endorphins and encourage trust.
There is a refreshment provided as the group moves into another room to bond and discover commonalities. The program is 6 weeks long and meets on Saturday morning. Your insurance may cover the cost or you may have a copay of about $20. These sessions are also offered on an individual basis.
